ReMake Castlegate is a project developed in partnership with Yorkshire Artspace and local artists as part of the Festival of the Mind 2014 in Sheffield.

18th – 28th September 2014

The project focuses on Castlegate, a significant and historic area of Sheffield which is undergoing significant change, including the closure and planned demolition of Castlegate Market. The impending changes have stirred many reactions from locals and there are a lot memories that need to be recorded and shared.

During the Festival of the Mind we will be working with the people who live and work in the area to find out how they are affected by these changes. We will be based in Exchange Place Studios and will be running workshops with local community groups. Using a large physical model we will be re-visioning parts of Castlegate and discussing the past, present and future of the area.
